Italian Art Museum was donated by the Italian colony on the occasion of the centenary of the Independence of Peru in 1921.It is a museum specializing in Italian art of the early S. XX andis a bastion of Italian culture in the country through which reflected the close friendship between Peru and Italy.

The museum building is neo-Renaissance style and is itself a work of art, through which represents the cream of art, history and culture of Italy. Thus, we find elements of the architecture of Bramante, Donatello reliefs inspired by the main door frame inspired by the gates of Ghiberti on the Baptistery in Florence, copies of the Aurora and the Night of the Medici Chapel crowning the building , coats of major Italian cities, two huge mosaics decorate the facade with the representation of the most notable of Italian history as Christopher Columbus, Julius Caesar, Garibaldi, San Francisco de Assisi, Raphael, Machiavelli, among others, and inside, a large stained glass inspired by spring of Botticelli.

The collection of Italian art of the early twentieth century can be seen through the five rooms of the museum in a free path, in which works of art come out to meet invited guests to enjoy a feast of colors, scenes and emotions.

On display are paintings, watercolors, prints, sculptures in bronze and marble and glazed ceramic. Among them are: "The meeting of Dante and Beatrice" by Raffaello Sorbi, "The Test"Ulisse Caputo, "The Abyss" by Pietro Canonica, "TheSchoolgirl" by Gian Emilio Malerba, "Summer" , Arturo Dazzi, among many others.
